After setting the bar high with last year's trip, Opel Netherlands couldn’t wait to come back and wanted to say Hello Scotland for one night only.
We had 32 hours to showcase our wonderful country with the ultimate Scottish programme that wowed, allowed for fun networking opportunities and left lasting memories – challenge accepted!
The final programme encompassed Scotland's urban chic and stunning wilderness; with activities and experiences using Loch Lomond and its enchanted islands, as well as the vibrancy of Glasgow as a backdrop. With such a short time in Scotland, it was key to ensure the guests felt engrossed in the programme from the moment they arrived, to the moment they left.
The guests arrived at Glasgow airport, where an awaiting fleet of self-drive 4x4 vehicles were ready for the group to navigate to Loch Lomond – the setting for their morning activities.
Poised with their finger on the trigger, the guests waited for the trap to release their target as they tried their hands at clay pigeon shooting, guided by top level coaches. Aim, fire...and hit!! And they all proved themselves to be natural hotshots.
With the guns away, the group got the chance to get close and interact with falcons, owls and eagles - closer than you could ever imagine!
The guests fully embraced the opportunity to handle and fly the magnificent birds of prey during this interactive falconry display, not to mention getting photo evidence to send home!
Keeping the momentum going they headed back to the 4x4s and onwards to the beautiful conservation village of Luss, to refuel with some traditional Scottish pub food. The excitement continued after lunch as the group were whisked away in speedboats to explore Loch Lomond and its spectacular scenery. A final drive took the group to the picture perfect Glengoyne Distillery, where they learnt about the ‘water of life’, and had a few drams to act as a little bit of ‘Scotch courage’ for what came next….
The evening began with a chance for the gents to become honorary Scot’s for one night only, as we'd arranged a full kilt fitting ahead of their evening on the town. A fleet of traditional black taxis took them to enjoy dinner in Glasgow’s atmospheric Ashton Lane and the night came to a close touring a few west end pubs and sampling some Scottish craft beers.
Experience has taught us that people love the contrast of the Scottish countryside as well as its cultural cities so even with a one night programme we wanted to take the opportunity to showcase both. With a few hours left before the guests had to catch their flight the following afternoon, there was a chance to indulge in the vitality that Glasgow had to offer. What better way to take in the spectacular city than with an interactive GPS city hunt. The group were split into competing teams to explore the city and its many cultural highlights, unlocking questions and fun photo tasks along the way. With the final destination disclosed part way through the hunt, the teams raced back for the eagerly anticipated, hilarious, wrap-up presentation.
Finishing with lunch and returning to the airport it was safe to say in 32 hours the group truly received a ‘taste of Scotland’. With a slick, carefully created itinerary that truly flowed, we were able to offer Opel an experience that guests will remember for far longer than their brief visit.
“The fact that we chose (Hello) Scotland for the second time in only 6 months for an Incentive Trip proves we were very impressed. Not only by the beautiful country side, but also by the way the Hello Scotland team makes sure there is absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of surprising, entertaining and pampering our guests”.
