At Hello Scotland we LOVE food. Good food that is. And you might be surprised to learn that Scotland has an amazing selection of local produce and talented chefs who create scrumptious plates of delicious, award-winning, mind-blowingly good food! If you have an incentive group who are ‘foodies’, Scotland is one destination that will surprise and delight them from start to finish.
Here are our top 'foodie' incentive activities:
Foodie walking tours
Walking tours are a standard part of many incentive groups, however we like to add a twist to ours, by introducing food stops along the way. This might be popping into a little shortbread shop on the Royal Mile, stopping on Calton Hill for traditional fish and chips, or even sampling some Scottish cheese on an old-fashioned red bus in the beautiful Kelvingrove Park! We have lots of ways of bringing a city to life through food, especially in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
‘Street Food’ dining, Scottish style
Sometimes set menus for every meal can be a bit overwhelming for a group, so why not give them the ultimate choice of Scottish dining? We can organise ‘street food’ style events where guests get the chance to sample all kinds of local delicacies, British classics and popular styles of food, from the country’s best street food vendors.
Foraging, fishing and camping
Take it back to nature with a foraging workshop and an afternoon of fishing. Then, top chefs will take the ingredients the group has discovered to create an amazing meal. Finish the night with some unique ‘glamping’ under the stars. A true experience of adventure in the Scottish Highlands!
Food and drink pairing
Take food and drink pairing to a new level as your group joins experts in food research for workshops that could include whisky paired with chocolate or cheese, perfect serve gins and more. This makes a great pre or post dinner activity for groups.
Island BBQ lunch
Ok so this isn’t just about the food, it’s about the whole experience. Your group would get picked up on the banks of Loch Lomond by a fleet of speedboats. They would zip through the water to a special location on a private island. There waiting for them would be a BBQ lunch, right on the beach!
Fresh seafood on the west coast
For groups willing to head off the beaten track, they must, must, must go to the West Coast to experience fresh Scottish seafood, it’s some of the best in the world! From a seafood shack in Oban, to champagne and oysters by Loch Fyne, or even to a small smokehouse by the sea, the combination of the views and the fresh seafood is a treat that won’t be forgotten!
And we can’t forget the classic activity for foodie incentive groups – a visit to a cook school. Scotland has some fantastic cook schools and we can even bring them to a specific venue to teach the group some modern ways to cook with classic Scottish ingredients.
Keep the foodie theme going with room drops:
Award winning Scottish chocolate
Traditional tea and scones
Scottish smoked salmon – vacuum packed so it’s safe for taking home
