Tuesday, 5th June, is World Environment Day and to recognise the importance of our role in beating plastic pollution, Hello Scotland has pledged to stop using single-use coffee cups and to reduce our plastic bottle wastage.

Scotland's beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world, but they are not immune to the tonnes of plastic waste that makes its way into the worlds rivers and seas. Far from it. Our Islands and coastlines are being choked with toxic waste from around the globe and we all - as individuals and as companies - have a responsibility to look at our actions and try to reduce, reuse and recycle where ever we can.

Last week the Scottish Government announced it was banning single use coffee cups in its offices, and we've decided to follow suit! Reusable cups all round :) Ok, we might not have the same impact as the whole of the government, but every little helps right? AND, thanks to MacDonald Hotels & Resorts, we already have a stash of reusable cups!

An incentive room drop with a conscious

It might be hard, but not impossible to get your incentive groups to help #BeatPlasticPolution. Deliver a branded, themed or personal reusable coffee cup as part of a room drop to encourage them to ditch single use cups, both on their trip and back home. We've got lots of other environmentally-friendly ideas for the more conscious incentive travel group.

Calling all suppliers!

Here's a hashtag we'd love to see you get involved with... #NaeStrawAtAw !! Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin are already leading the way. Who else is onboard?
