We love building programmes for this time of year (September-November) as there are some awesome experiences to be had and usually great hotel availability! Here are just some of our favourites activities for an autumn incentive trip in Scotland...

The Hello team visited St Andrews a few weeks ago to see some old favourites and learn about new and exclusive experiences for groups. Here's what we did, where we stayed and what we learnt on our FAM trip.
Throughout this blog series we’ve given you our thoughts and feelings on where to stay and what to do in the Glasgow area, whether you’re looking for 5* luxury in the country or a quick city break. Accommodation is a really important part of any corporate event or business trip, but if you’re working in the world of team building and incentives, what you really need to know, is what activities and programs are available to entertain your guests during their trip.
Whisky is known as Scotland’s national drink and loved by millions across the globe, but there is a 'new' kid in town, GIN! As you can see below, Bill is not sure which tipple to try first.......
Over the next few weeks, the ‘Scotland Experts’ at Hello are set to reveal some of their favourite Scottish experiences, including best hotels, venues, incentives and magic memories…don’t miss out!
As the weekend drew to a close, the first ever 'Taking of the Hill' group paraded their way through the streets of Edinburgh for a might victory feast and evening of celebration. Some of the participants took a few moments during the evening to reflect on the weekend's events. Here's what they had to say...
After reading Elaine’s blog entry about the challenges facing the events industry in 2010 it got me thinking about the availability of cost effective incentives that offer clients a real return on investment, whilst giving their guests a memorable & emotional experience. Can Scotland offer you a cost effective incentive / team building solution with positive results?
According to our project team the answer is a definite yes, so lets find out what their tried and tested ‘cost effective’ program activities look like.
1. Wilderness & ‘back to basics’
Famously known for the rugged highlands dramatic scenery, spending a night in the Scottish wilderness gives you the opportunity to get close to nature and truly experience the highlands.
Spend a night around the campfire, cozying up in sheepskin throws, enjoying tasty ‘back to basics’ cooking- a fun and heartwarming experience for any group. Heck we can even throw in a group of real highlanders and some whisky to complete the night!
2. Little local gems
From Glasgow to Edinburgh, Aberdeen to Inverness, the Scottish countryside is littered with reasonably priced local activities that offer guests a special memory.
Some of the ‘local gems’ our clients have enjoyed are the adrenaline thrills of some of the world’s best mountain biking trails, whisky tasting in an age old distillery, unbeatable salmon fishing and enjoying some interactive falconry in the grounds of a famous Scottish Castle.
Long lasting memories don’t have to come from expensive or logistically difficult program activities – some of the best are simple, yet effective! Just check out this Falconry Video to see how guests react to an interactive display.
3. Take a stroll…
For the active amongst you, take your pick from countless beautiful hill walking spots across the country. No matter where you are in Scotland, you’re not far from the opportunity to enjoy hill walking - whether you're a pro or a novice walker - and the scenery can be breathtaking.
If you’re interested in a more leisurely stroll, head to some of the local Highland villages, excellent for afternoon tea, a ‘wee dram’ and some therapeutic shopping.
4. It’s the small things…
Sometimes it’s the small things, with little or no cost that make an incentive a truly memorable experience; like freshly brewed coffee brought to you on the golf course, gifts for VIPs or a surprise visit from a real highlander!
Any DMC you use should be able to help you make your incentive extra special, with little or no extra costs – this is where their creativity should shine!
