The buzz, the hype, the medals and the drama. Olympic fever has swept the world. I for one am regretting that I didn’t even attempt to get tickets. Yet what a fantastic thing to experience! Here in Great Britain, the games have united our nations together - just imagine what it could do for your company...
The incentive travel industry can sometime steer clear of large events like this, assuming hotels will be expensive, restaurants limited and logistics a nightmare. But imagine being in the thick of it, enjoying the buzz, motivating your team and sharing special moments together?
As we enter the final days of the 2012 Olympics and look at London in awe, it’s impossible not to think that this is an ideal atmosphere to reward and motivate staff. You might have missed out this time, but in 2014 Glasgow will host the Commonwealth Games. Ok, it’s not the Olympics but with 4,500 athletes competing for 250 medal events and over 1,000,000 tickets to be sold, I like to think it will be a mini version of what London is experiencing right now.
17 sports. 11 days of competition. 1 host city. XX Commonwealth Games Glasgow. 23rd July – 3rd August 2014.
