Your next corporate incentive trip to Scotland doesn’t have to follow the usual pattern. Why not spice things up a little, take a break from tradition and choose 5* accommodation out of the city and away from the ‘hotel’ vibe?

Firstly, may I wish all of our blog readers a very happy new year and my best wishes for a successful 2012!

A few weeks before Christmas my team and I visited Archerfield Links – a magnificent golf course with exquisite 5* lodges and a 17th Century House on the estate - right on the east coast of Scotland near North Berwick.

It reminded us all that incentive travelers don’t have to stick to the safe and traditional option of 5* hotels in the city, but that if you broaden your thinking a little you will find gems all around the countryside that can offer you 5* luxury in more unique locations, even for larger numbers….

Edinburgh will be a familiar incentive destination for many of you, and I’m sure you will be equally as familiar with some of the luxury 5* hotels in the city, like The Balmoral and the Hilton Caledonian for example.

Here at Hello Scotland we love these hotels, but sometimes incentive groups demand something a little different. Staying at a location which isn’t a typical 5* hotel (however beautiful it may be), can offer a real sense of uniqueness and new experience to incentive participants.

Take Archerfield House for example, the house has 14 bedrooms and many lavish reception & dining rooms, plus 12 Pavilion rooms which sit adjacent to the house, and a selection of luxury 3-4 bedroom lodges.

Combined it can offer larger groups an exclusive location, and is ideal for incentive groups that have tiered winners or VIPs.

Have you considered an out-of-town location for the setting of your next Scottish incentive?

Like to know more about basing an incentive group at Archerfield House? Next week Elaine be sharing a fantastic sample program for the area!

Once again, my very best wishes for 2012! Bill
